Forklift Licence - LF

Note

Assessment for a Forklift High Risk Work Licence can only be undertaken by persons aged 18 years and over. 

Course Description

 

Gain the skills, knowledge, and nationally recognised qualification to safely and efficiently operate a forklift truck with M. P Labour and Training’s Forklift Licence Course. Designed to meet Victorian and Australian regulatory standards, this course provides hands-on practical training and theoretical instruction in a supportive, professional learning environment.

Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to apply for a National High Risk Work Licence (LF class) through WorkSafe Victoria. We offer a wide range of construction services, from complete building construction to remodeling and renovation. Our team has experience working on both residential and commercial projects, and we are committed to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.

Who Should Enroll

 This course is ideal for:

  • Individuals seeking employment in warehousing, logistics, construction, or manufacturing.
  • Workers who need to upgrade or renew their forklift operating skills.
  • Employers aiming to ensure their staff are trained to nationally recognised safety standards.

Course Content

Participants will learn to:

  • Plan and prepare for forklift operations.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and identify hazards.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, and relocate loads.
  • Shut down and secure equipment according to site procedures.
  • Understand and comply with workplace health and safety regulations.
    The course aligns with Unit of Competency TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck.

Course Duration & Location

The standard duration of this course is 1 day in person, plus pre-course learning. Prior to your attendance, there will also be online enrolment and pre-training materials to complete in your own time, which take approximately 1.5-2.5 hours. 

The course can be delivered onsite at your Workplace, for groups only

Language & other student requirements

Students must be at least 18 years old to obtain a Forklift licence.

Assessment activities must all be conducted whilst communicating in English, and interpreters are not allowed to be used. Students require a reasonable command of English and basic numeracy skills to complete the government-mandated assessment tool for this course. Only minor adjustments for personal or workplace reasons are allowed.

Hearing-impaired persons may use sign language to communicate via an interpreter (only when approved by the Regulator).

The course may involve some manual handling, climbing, lifting, carrying, and height work. It must be clearly understood that some disabilities may preclude a student from participating safely, and this may restrict entry to the course. For details and alternatives, please refer to AITAC administrator for advice.

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a Statement of Attainment and an Assessment Summary to support their application for a WorkSafe Victoria High Risk Work Licence (LF).

Unit of competency

This training course may include the following Units of Competency, which form part of a full certificate qualification.

  • TLIB2001 Check and assess operational capabilities of equipment
  • TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck
